Diana DeVusser Founder

Diana DeVusser, FounderDiana's Dance Academy was founded in 1969 by Diana DeVusser.

"Miss Diana" packed away her dance shoes in May 2016 and although Miss Diana no longer teaches or is a part of the everyday operation of the academy she enjoys hearing about the students and attending any perfomances the students do throughout the year.
She continues to be a member of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, Project Care, and other local community organizations.  Her tireless efforts for her community are just part of her energy and zest for life.

Meet Our Staff

Karen Bush

Karen is originally from the Chicagoland area and began her dance training there.  She spent time training consistently under her dance instructor Pam Hibbert and took extra classes at the Joffrey School of Ballet in downtown Chicago as well as attending various conventions.  Karen attended college on a dance scholarship and minored in dance.  She went on to train under an instructor who had attended the North Carolina School of the Arts; to improve her skills as a teacher.  After this year long internship in 2002 she began teaching at Diana's Dance Academy. With Karen being military connected she left the area but throughout the period she consistently attended conventions and workshops to stay current on technique, choreography and dance styles.  In 2009 she began teaching ballet technique for a competitive dance team in California.  After a year she decided to return to the studio for additional training and was accepted into the BalletMet in Columbus, Ohio.  After this training Karen and her husband started a family and Karen began teaching  Zumba and spending more time at home.  This is Karen's second year being back at Diana's Dance Academy to return to return to her love of teaching ballet.
